Lanzarote has a landscape that does not go unnoticed. A dramatic, stark, exotic, bright landscape.
Some areas of this island are considered as one of the most similar environments to other planets such as Mars, which is why for years the island has been chosen for several research projects.
The European space agency (ESA) and the Canary Islands have signed an agreement for astronauts, astrobiologists and space engineers to continue exploring the volcanic landscapes of the island as preparation for expeditions to other planets.
An example of this is the Pangaea-X project, the extension of the geological training course in the Pangaea field. The campaign combines space and geological exploration with advanced technologies to prepare humans to work in an extraterrestrial territory.
